Daily access to advice on welfare rights, employment, debt, housing and consumer rights

 

Shiney Advice & Resource Project runs an advice service within the Centre at 17 Beatrice terrace, Shiney Row..

 

The advice centre is open every weekday during the day, and is a drop-in service which means that no appointment is needed.

 

The advice centre can offer information and advice to  residents from the community of Houghton Le Spring area on a range of issues. If we can't help we can refer you to other agencies that can.

 

Help and Advice

  • We can give people help and advice about employment, housing, consumer rights and benefits, and debt

  • If you are on benefits we can check you are getting the right amount of money

  • We have leaflets available to explain your rights on a range of issues

Accessibility

  • No appointment needed, just drop in to the centre when it is open

  • The service is on a first-come first-served basis - just take a seat and wait to be seen

  • Our offices, including the Advice Centre, are wheelchair accessible
